Rock Climbing (The Brickyard)
Description: The Brickyard is a hard to navigate awesome collection of boulders located up West Camino Cielo. Park just as Lizards Mouth comes into view in the large turn out on the right. The trail starts across the road to the left. Just look and you will find it. Follow the trail down for less than 10 minutes and you will be in the thick of it. I will do my best to post anything that will help you get around while there but it is a challenge figuring out what your climbing.
A Few Climbs:
Yeti look not that steep |
- Yeti (V4) A great climb that starts on 2 decent holds on the right and moves up and right. 2 Jugs at the top get you ready for the slopey top out. I think this is a classic problem. Obvious line, strong moves, fun problem.
- Charlotte's Web (V3) Rated V4 in Edward's guide book but is defiantly easier now. Maybe due to how its done or changing rock but it seemed at-least a grade easier than Yeti.
- Grotesque Old Women (V7) My first time on the problem today and it seemed very doable. Start on a right hand crimp and left hand open pocket. Hard move up to a good crimp. Bring a spotter for the top out!
Grotesque Old Women staring holds are that left chalked hole and right crimp. Easy right? |
